So, Halo 2 has gone gold and will hit shelves as expected in less than a month.

So now there is this question to Ebel - Are you going to sign up for XBox Live?

I think they've gone down to 150 Stu, though I could be wrong, they might be 170 still.

I'm seriously considering picking one up now too.

yeah, XBOX's are 150 new.

I haven't decided yet on XBOX live when Halo2 comes out. First I'm going to master the single-player aspect of the game, read some reviews of the multiplayer, then decide how I feel.

BTW, St Louis Halo players, I'm having a Halo tournament at my house on November sixth. That's a Saturday, it'll happen at 2P. This is the weekend before the Halo2 release, as kind of a gear-up for Halo2.

We have 3 TVs (well actually two, but one of them's big enough to split in half). So that's 12 potential players, and if there's enough people showing up I'll ask someone else to bring a TV so we can get 16 players.

I have all the networking equipment already.

Couple of my programmers/game developer friends played the leaked french version here on campus yesterday. They were pretty amazed at the single player story line as well as the character animation. Apparently Bungie didn't reveal any of their major cards at E3 or during any other sneak preview. When I saw it at E3, it just looked like a more refined Halo. Needless to say, I'm even drooling for it, and I'm not a xbox/microsoft/halo fan to begin with.

What's more important is, Half Life 2 has gone gold...FINALLY.

I think that once the holidays are closer, XBox (BOX!!!) might lower their price and/or throw in free games like they did when they were having that huge competition with PS2. If I decided to get anything, I'd probably hold out until then.
