And in the most pointed indicator ever that those who vote for baseball awards have no idea what they're voting about:

Derek Jeter just won a gold glove with a range factor of 4.4. League average was 4.56.

IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT FIELDING PERCENTAGE YOU IDIOTS!

Avatar another post from woody....
yeah...baseball people have issues. and if the people that think jeter should win a gold glove also think pete rose should NOT be in the hall of fame...well...that just makes me rethink what i think about pete rose....wait...no....hes a(n) *self-censored omissions of dirty words in such a fashion that should lead jimmy to believe that i finally learned my lesson and wont be mean on jd.com ever ever again and i realize that if i do i'll be banned fer life* and shouldnt be allowed back in baseball.

uh...jimmy...i love you man.

Avatar No, the real crime of the century is that all the back woods rednecks of the country re-elected Dumb Ass to another 4 years in office.

About the only good thing about this is that now he has to figure out how to fix what he fecked up over in Iraq. This should be entertaining.

Avatar I don't care if you two talk politics. I'm not getting into it on here. I voted for Skip.

The honeymoon was awesome. Great weather.

Avatar I decided at about 3 PM on Nov 2 that I was gonna run, and I started trying to recruit at work to garner write-in votes. I don't think I got any, but still almost achieved my goal of getting more support than Nader...

Avatar at least voter turnout was really really high. thats good. i think we can all agree for sure that since W got more than 50% of the popular vote (especially with turnout so high) the democrats dont have anything to complain about. plus, the GOP won more house and senate seats...and also MO now has a republican governor. interesting, isnt it? the GOP has the liberals on the run right now. i'm sure it'll swing back the other way in the not too distant future. america is dynamic, and hopefully neither party will ever gain too much power. we are probably best off if the legislature is 50/50 and the white house goes back and forth often. thats probably the best.

that being said, i woulda voted for skip if jimmy was his running mate. but thing thing that worries me is that even though i'd imagine he's a fiscal conservative, i dont know where he stands on social/moral issues.

Avatar That's what pissed me off the most - that the Networks were saying that the Midwest voted with their moral conscience. Bush is an old crack-sniffing alcoholic who dodged going to war because his daddy was rich and powerful.

Avatar uh, dan....whats with the politics talk? i was seriously hoping after it was over no one would continue to constantly complain aboot politiks. i think that'd be a good thing to just stop.

wasnt this thread about the horrible inconceivable crime of awarding derek "no range" jeter a gold "obviously doesnt mean anything anymore" glove?

Avatar I really hope you are kidding, Woody. Otherwise you would look like a hypocrite.
:: Response posted on 2004-11-06 by Woody
Avatar i wasnt talking about politics...just voter turnout. its different.

Avatar I stand by my comment, buy I think Woody is right - let's not tarnish jd.com with talk about the turd sandwich and the giant douche.

Avatar ebel....i have a question.....
its a conspiracy theory....
ok...here goes:
so do you think that somehow steinbrenner pulled strings/paid off people/did underhand dirty big money things to get jeter to win a gold glove? i mean...with all this talk about how jeter should move to second and allow arod to play SS, and then the yanks could pick up adrian beltre from the dodgers and have the bestest most spendiferous LEFT side of the infield ever? i mean...basically, do you think that jeter just got handed a gold glove so stupid people would think he deserves to be at SS instead of arod? maybe steinbrenner trying to give himself armament to qwell all the rumors out there about jeter actually NOT being a good SS? i mean...i know they're just rumors...but its also just a rumor that SOME baseball players who have names like...oh...lets just make one up...barry bonds we'll call him is on steroids?
