Some of you may notice that under the latest comments box, there are now Google ads running. Why? Certainly not to make money. Even at a VERY high ad rate, jimdrewes.com doesn't bring in enough traffic to make any cash, and thats fine. The reason those ads are there are so that I can study the way Google Adsense works on this website. So, please treat the ads as you would on any website. If its interesting, click on it. If not, ignore it.

Avatar When did they start doing public service announcements in their ads? I just saw one for Literacy Cambodia.

Also, it should be interesting to see what they display for jimdrewes.com. I've seen a lot relating to passwords. Is it keying off the login form or something?

Avatar Thats kinda why I put it up - to see how Google does picking ads that match the content. So far, they don't really change for a specific thread.

I think they've always run PSAs. Most ad agencies do. With Google, it usually happens in the beginning while the bot is still parsing your site, figuring out what ads to serve up. Most people also set up their adwords account so that if it gets in a PSA situation, it just rolls over to a different ad agency, so they are always running ads and not PSAs.

Avatar It sure picked up on that "adwords" in your post. All 4 ads were 'adwords' related while viewing this thread.

Interstingly, while composing this reply, all 4 are about webhosting, and there's no mention of adwords. Hmmmm.

I guess that explains why I've never seen an adwords PSA before. The More You Know...
