G.I. Woody

Guess what everybody...i joined the army. i'm leaving for training on the 7th of june. i'll be spending 9 weeks at fort jackson, s. carolina then 14 weeks at fort benning, georgia.

in any event, that being the case tori and i have decided to move up our wedding. it'll be the 26th of may. we're getting married down at the courthouse in st. charles. sophisticated, huh?

anyway, since it's a courthouse wedding most of you wont be invited to the actual ceremony. very few people will be there. basically just our immediate families + zack and ryan.

in any event, i hpoe to get together some sort of something we can call a bachelor party for me. now i know kurt's is on the 20th of may (sorry kurt, but i could only schedule my wedding for the 26th of may or the 5th, and the 5th doesnt work for us.)

maybe this means we get to have two bachelor parties...mine the week before kurts? anyway, details will be ironed out soon on that. i just wanted to let everyone know whats going on in my world.

sidnote: GI Joel got his Active Duty Orders yesterday - Start Date: June 6th, 2006. End Date: June 6th, 2016. The difference here being, of course, that he'll be in residency for 3 years, then in a U.S. V.A. Hospital (or Germany) for the rest of it, where it is nice and there is good beer (in the case of Germany).

Timmy, thank you. not to get all altruistic on you people or anything, but i'm not like a lot of people who go into the military. it's not like i have to do it 'cause i don't have any options left in life. It's something i want to do. i guess i feel like we've all had it super easy in life, and there's a reason why. i guess i just wanna give something back for a few years. and if things keep going the way they are now, i'll be giving something back in iran.

Sorry I wasn't very clear - the AD orders he got were just the most recent - he actually joined in 2002. He's a 1st lieutenant or something absurd like that. I'll email and find out for sure

Yeah, but it was just ROTC ranger stuff, not actual ranger stuff. As far as I can tell, all that really involved was running a lot while carrying backpacks.
