Avatar aight, Well I am going to be in StL the next weekend, I guess I will miss you. So are you heading to Germany on the 22nd, or do you go somewhere else for training first?

Avatar yeah, things didn't exactly work out right. i wound up in a different unit. i'm in the 1st battalion 6th infantry regiment of the first armored division. it's a battallion of M2A2 bradleys. for those of you who dont know (and i didnt until a few month ago) there are 44 bradleys in a battallion. thats a lot of firepower. i actually got to play gunner in a bradley the other afternoon. it was actually really difficult. you're sitting in this turret staring out a scope, and you have a machine gun, a 25mm automatic cannon missiles all at your disposal and you just cant stop shooting 'cause its so fun...

hmm....

also, i got my M16 issued and had to do zeroing and qualification on sunday. i hit 34 out of 40 targets, so i'm getting better. most of my army duties arent nearly this fun, though. i'm a staff officer so i spend most of my time working on a computer writing TPS reports, ordering supplies for the battallion and going to random training meetings. i have to prepare a powerpoint presentation everyday and keep track of the training status of the companies and whatnot. it's funny 'cause a lot of it is super boring with moments of excitment which are few and far between. its also really weird to see all these young guys who look like kids who are gonna be rolling in the desert in combat in those bradleys. weird. it's hard to describe.

Avatar Uh... Melinda's cousin is in Germany, in a tank division. Maybe you're in his chain of command. How cool would that be?
