Adding RAM

I have a question for you computer nerds... So I just increased the RAM on my laptop from 512 to 2 gig. Someone told me that I should change the page file size. Do any of you know about this and can you please help me? Thanks.

Avatar Most likely, Windows is managing your page file size for you. Your biggest performance gain will come from that 2 gig of RAM, not diddling with advanced settings. Unless you're regularly using 2+ gig of RAM, I'd assume the person who told you to fiddle with it is a retard.

Avatar Yeah, the way paging works is, as you use up your RAM the computer will actually write some data to the hard drive, and swap it out with some of the data stored in RAM. (which is why its sometimes called a "swap file"). So, if you have 2GB, and you're not short on hard drive space, you probably don't need to screw with the paging.
